But what about the longer story?
Blumarelo is a band. But it’s also a search for a feeling inside all of us. A colourful feeling. Clear skies, warm ocean breeze, sun-scorched sand, and everything in between.
In fact, the band’s name combines the colour blue, “sea” in Spanish (“mar”), and “yellow” in Portuguese (“amarelo”).
To encapsulate this feeling, the band have crafted a sound that might be regarded as “tropical rock.” It’s full of sentimental melodies, storytelling, and hip-swaying grooves.
Blumarelo are Vincent Teetsov (rhythm guitar, vocals), Renan Deodato (lead guitar), Mauricio Gamboa (bass), and Julious Nshaba (drums)—friends who have bonded over their Latin roots, indie rock, and a desire to bring out a good time for their musical community. An appreciation for coxinha may have been influential, too.
Joining the band live and in the studio are numerous instrumentalists who can get a party going as soon as they hit the stage.
